On Memorial Day, Marshall and I drove up to Sundance. We took the chair lift up the mountain, then went hiking.
The views while we were on the lift were
so beautiful, I had to take pictures.
Once we got to the top, we chose to go on the Stewart Falls hike. It was so fun. The mountains still had snow on them, but the weather was perfect. Along the way, we enjoyed the beautiful views of the mountains, saw a few deer and some smaller "waterfalls". Part of the hike was through the woods, which really made me miss Maryland.
After about a mile and a half we spotted Stewart Falls. We took a short break to have a lunch picnic, the went closer to explore the falls a bit.
After we made our way back down the mountain to Sundance, we drove through the canyons some more until we came to Cascade Springs in the American Fork canyon.
The springs were so amazing. There was a boardwalk
over them, so we were able to walk through and
read all of the "fun fact" signs about the springs. I think
I would be okay with having this in our backyard one day.
After all of our fun adventures, we went home, made dinner, then went and saw the movie "Battleship" (it was just okay.)
This was definitely one of the greatest Memorial Day's ever. We feel so blessed that we are able to do so many fun things together and we are so grateful for the men and women that make our freedom possible.
