I didn't realized it had been so long since I updated our blog! I guess I have quite a few things to put on here, so I'll try not to make it too long.
So last time I blogged, was the weekend before Marshall's birthday in August. The same weekend we had gone up to Idaho to celebrate Marshall's birthday, my older brother, Travis, and his family came into town. I was lucky enough to have my niece and nephews stay with us that week while Travis and Kim went to Seattle to celebrate Travis' birthday.
We had such a fun week! I tell Marshall all the time that I have no idea how I am going to love our own children any more than I love these three. They seriously melt my heart! And they are going to have a new little sister for me to love in January! Can't wait!
We went on a bunch of adventures that week and had a ton of fun. Marshall kindly tolerated all of the noise and sticky hand prints around our house. I guess he did a pretty good job of tolerating them, since I was told that Anella asks for "Uncle Marsall" more than she does for me. Little stink!
Since the kids were here on Marshall's actual birthday, I dropped them off for the evening at their cousins house so Marshall and I could celebrate. I didn't take many pictures, but I had set up an appointment for him to go get a massage, then we went to dinner with some friends. It was a good day. To go along with all of the family history stuff we have done lately, I gave Marshall a couple of McKinnon shirts for his birthday and he wore one to dinner.
Marshall's mom sent him a gift card to Rodizio Grill for his birthday, since it's one of his favorite restaurants, so we were able to celebrate again a couple weeks later. I think Marshall's birthday ended up lasting for a month.
At the end of September, Jill invited me to go to a girls night up in Park City. She rented an AMAZING condo through Ryan's work. I went up early with her on Friday, spent the day with her and the kids, then all of the other girls came up that evening. Jill made us the best potato soup for dinner, then we just hung out and enjoyed the chocolate fountain Jill brought. The next morning we went out to breakfast, then we all went to get pedicures. It was very relaxing and great to get away for a little bit. Ryan and Jill ended up having the condo for two nights and invited Marshall and I to stay the second night as well. Marshall had to work that day, so I spent the day with the Hutchings. Ryan got us passes to go on the rides they have up there. Marshall came up that evening, we went to dinner, then the boys got to enjoy video games for the rest of the night. It was such a great weekend!
We have really been enjoying fall this year. We aren't all that excited for snow to start, but we have definitely been enjoying the cooler weather. Marshall planned a morning date for us, so we got up early, went to iHop to get pumpkin pancakes for breakfast, then hiked Mallan's Peak in Ogden. We did this hike when we were dating and Marshall had carved our initials into a tree. We were able to find the tree again on this hike. I thought it was cute.
I planned a date and took Marshall to Leatherby's to get ice cream. Little did I know, this is somewhere Marshall remembers going as a kid in California, so he was very excited to go back. We both got HUGE ice cream sundaes. I have no idea how, but Marshall actually finished his. He was in a sugar coma for the rest of the night!
Which brings us to last night...
Marshall planned another awesome fall date. He left work early and we drove up the canyon a little ways to have a fire. He brought all of the supplies we needed to roast hot dogs and s'mores. He even remembered the apple cider. The place we went was perfect. It was right by a little river and all of the leaves were changed for fall.
So this is what we have been up to the past couple of months... I will try to be better about blogging the rest of the year!
